Remove the wax from the surfboard. Pour some hot water on the traction pad. This will make the material softer and easier to peel off. Before taping the front traction pad, the surfboard must be clean or it will not stick!2.Take the tape and apply a long section from tip to tail and center it.3. without removing the tape from the traction pad, place the tail pad and arch bar on the board to locate them. The tailboard should be as far back as possible. The arch bar should be about 3-5 inches from the top of the board, depending on your style. Use the laid out tape to help ensure that the mat is centered, then outline it with a pencil (don't worry, the pencil marks will disappear from the skateboard).4. Peel off the long piece of tape used to center the pad. Then peel off the adhesive from the traction pads and place the pads within the pencil outline. Make sure to press down hard on these pads so that they actually stick.5. It is recommended that you allow the grips to dry for 24 hours before surfing the board. Allow enough time for the glue to harden. This will ensure that they do not come off.
