From the Publisher Learning animals and their sounds book in spanish (as seen in the pictures) for babies and toddlers Book for baby From the first months of life, playing with the book "learning the animals and their sounds" helps the baby to discriminate sounds. At around 4 months, when the baby already holds his head and body upright, he can be allowed to manipulate the book while playing. Book for 1 year old When the baby has grown and begins to utter his first words, playing with the book will help him vocalize the different sounds of the language. Book for 2 years old Once the baby is alredy forming sounds the next step will be learning the names of things. This book teaches them the names of some farm, forest and jungle animals Book for 3 years old Before the age of 3, the toddler begins to imitate the movements and attitudes of adults, as well as the animals ones! One of the most enjoyable game for them is imitating the animals, which as well as developing their imagination works out their gross motor skills My own experience with this book I have worked for many years with children between the ages of 3 and 12, and from that experience I learned many things, among them, that imitating animals: their sounds, their gestures and their movements is one of the favorite games of any child, they are always willing to do it. When my little girl was born, I wanted to apply this technique with her, so I played imitating animals when changing a diaper (which is the activity she hates the most in the world), because through this game I noticed that she was distracted. Beyond helping them to discriminate sounds, and favoring their linguistic development, I imagine that listening to the sound of a chicken, a rooster or a horse must be so stimulating because it is very different from the language of adults, and infrequent. And if there is something that babies like, it is stimuli, and learning new things. Since that technique of imitating animals worked for me, I extrapolated it to inventing any kind of strange sound to distract her when I want her to do things she doesn't like like cutting her nails, cleaning her ears or even going up or down stairs on her own and not in the arms of mom or dad. Now we have been playing with the chick book for many months and my little girl still likes it like the first day, she knows everything: the names of the animals in Spanish and in English, and their sounds. The beautiful thing about the story is that now, at 2 and a half years old, she is the one who tells it to us, when we are very tired at night and we have already read a few books to her, we tell her to read us the story of the chick. And, to be honest, some pages are skipped because her little fingers sometimes turn the pages two by two, but wow... that your daughter reads to you when she is still learning to speak is precious! It's a wonderful feeling. Martina Molina Why should we foster reading habits in our children? There are many reasons to do so, but I am going to talk here about the 3 that seem most important to me and that are the main reason why I encourage my toddler to read, or better said, since she is now two years and a half, deal with books: A practical matter: I don't know what my little girl will want to do for a living when she grows up, but most likely she will have to learn it reading. I am sure that loving reading will open to her more doors to knowledge, and therefore, more and better opportunities at a professional level, than not having this hobby.A physical question: A study by DR. David Lewis of the University of Sussex showed that reading helps us to reduce stress by 68%, compared to 61% that can be reduced through a podcast or music, or a walk 42%. On the contrary, video games, although they reduce stress by 21%, raise heart rate. The people participating in the study who had established the habit of reading (3 hours a week) lived an average of at least 2 years longer than the rest. In addition, it showed that only 6 minutes are enough to slow down the heart rate, relieve muscle tension and change the mood. I cannot prevent my daughter from suffering stress in her life, or complicated situations, I think these are situations intrinsic to the human being... what I can do as a mother is providing her with tools that minimize the effects of stress, or just helps her to deal with it.A matter of fun, but enriching... today, I can proudly say that my little girl considers books as toys. How do I instill instill in my toddler a love of reading? Throughout her two and a half years of life, the moments in which I have offered her books have changed, as sames as have changed the book formats that I have offered her. When I was pregnant we read a very short story every night....When she was 4 months old, my partner and I sat her on the sofa and gave her a Thinkerbell book ...I remember she went crazy with so many colors and we went crazy happy because it seemed that she loved it and that she had read
