These wound dressing pads are made of natural alginate fibers derived from seaweed, and silver (Ag). THey also provides moist wound environment and moist wound therapy. Through addressing wound infection and moist wound management it may help promoting wound healing. The silver in the dressing is released to the wound environment when the dressing absorbs wound discharge (also called wound exudate). The wound pad also forms a gel-like surface when it becomes moist. As long as the dressing is used in wounds with moderate to heavy discharge, this keeps the wound dressing from adhering to the wound and this makes the process of the dressing removal during the wound dressing change less likely to be painful. The silver alginate wound dressing can be a very useful tool in dealing with wound infection. For wounds with no or mild discharge, you may consider ultra-absorbent silicone foam, or moisten this dressing and then wring it our before using it. Wound care products and wound dressings are also called: bandages, gauze, Wound bandages, wound care dressings, wound care pads, wound gauze, aposito, curita, and parche, vendaje. In general wound dressings are used to provide traditional or moist wound therapy or management in order to expedite or help with wound healing.
