Developed by the BetterSax team over the course of almost 3 years, the Session Alto Saxophone was designed in the US by saxophonists for saxophonists. This commitment to understanding the needs of players is at the heart of what makes BetterSax products so special. Every Session saxophone is the result of meticulous craftsmanship and precision. The bells are skillfully hand-formed and hammered, the posts and keywork are individually hand-soldered, and each key is expertly hand-fitted and regulated for flawless action. Every horn is hand-engraved, carefully assembled, and inspected individually—not mass-produced on an automated factory line. After this process, they undergo a final thorough inspection to ensure every detail meets exact specifications. Only then are they placed in their cases and prepared for shipping, guaranteeing that each instrument meets the professional standards you deserve straight out of the box. The Session Alto is a true professional horn, delivering exceptional quality and performance for serious players. It’s designed to deliver a warm, resonant tone with fantastic projection and consistent intonation across the entire range. The ergonomics have been fine-tuned for smooth, comfortable playing, making it a reliable companion for long practice sessions, gigs, or studio work. Whether you’re playing jazz, classical, funk, or anything in between, this saxophone is built to perform at the highest level while remaining affordable.

Superior Tone & Projection: The Session offers a bigger, richer sound from the first note. Its redesigned neck—with an improved bore, tone ring, tapered tenon, and tone-enhancement plate—delivers fast response, increased resonance, and excellent intonation across all registers. The new bore and tone hole system enhance projection and flexibility. Designed in the French tradition, the Session produces a warm, focused tone ideal for any venue.
Advanced Design: The Session introduces an advanced mini-ribbed construction that preserves its lively response yet adds structural stability and greater tonal richness. A brass rim wire reinforces the bell, increases projection, and ensures the horn’s full tonal spectrum carries clearly to the back of the room or hall.
Performance-Driven Ergonomic Design: Every component of the Session was engineered around the needs of the player. Genuine mother-of-pearl key touches and blue steel springs deliver a comfortable feel and a fast and light key action, while Pisoni Pro pads with metal resonators add both longevity and more projection to the sound.
Distinctive Finishes & Handcrafted Detailing: Available in three striking options — Matte Black, Matte Dark Gold, and Copper-Bronze — the Session stands out visually as much as it does sonically. Every horn is adorned with intricate hand engraving designed in-house by BetterSax for a custom, artisan look.
Premium Case & Performance-Ready Setup: Each Session comes housed in a high-quality professional backpack case with a molded memory-foam interior, durable ballistic-nylon exterior, and ample storage for accessories. Also included is a professional, hard-rubber mouthpiece developed with the most legendary mouthpiece maker in the US—a hard-rubber piece inspired by our favorite vintage jazz mouthpiece, vulcanized, hand-finished, and play-tested by a BetterSax team member to guarantee consistency
