Yo-Zuri's Bonita trolling lures have been revamped with enhanced features and a reduced price point. Over time, these lures have seen positive improvements, with the current series showcasing Yo-Zuri's best efforts. They acknowledge the significance of pricing alongside build quality, rigging, and overall construction. Given the target species, wahoo, which has a powerful bite and sharp teeth, Yo-Zuri enhanced the lure materials several years ago. The new 'Power Body' material is harder than previous versions, replacing the compressed foam used in earlier models. These lures feature a wire-thru construction for strength and security, along with ball bearing stainless steel swivels and flat forged stainless steel hooks. The color change technology, introduced in 2012, is retained but only on the lure's top. While it was a major talking point in the past, its real-world appeal to fish is minimal. The lure's body is now smoother, allowing for better hooksets by enabling the lure to slide through the fish's mouth more easily. The 2016 Bonita lures are well-priced, with costs ranging from $29 to $39, a significant reduction from the previous $55 price point. These lures offer excellent quality and materials at a competitive price.
