Product description A Safe and Effective Alternative to Salt Bugsy McGreen's Professional Grade BugShot is a safe and effective non-salt alternative ammo specially formulated to optimize shooting performance in pump-action bug guns, such as the BUG-A-SALT v2.0, 2.5, 3.0, and 3.5 bug blasters.BugShot ammo is made from industrial grade crushed walnut shells. It is 100% all-natural, non-toxic (to both plants and animals) and biodegradable. It operates safely and effectively with most pump-action bug guns, but please read the disclaimer section below. It is NOT compatible with CO2-powered pistols, such as the BUG-A-SALT 4.0 Shred-Er, that use a preloaded ammo cartridge.Every single component of BugShot ammo, including all contents, packaging and labeling, is proudly made and assembled in the USA. How Does It Work? Larger Granules Like a shot gun, bug guns use kinetic energy of fast-moving granules ("shot") to inflict damage. Faster-moving, more-massive granules inflict more damage. BugShot granules, on average, are 3-4x more massive than ordinary salt. More Kinetic Energy BugShot granules are 40% less dense than ordinary salt, which enables them to accelerate to a higher muzzle exit velocity, releasing up to 5x more kinetic energy per granule upon impact. More Punch BugShot granules are not only faster and more energetic, they deliver their energy to the target over a shorter period of time, resulting in more "punch" (shorter shot string) compared to salt. Sharp edges also help penetrate a target and inflict greater damage on impact. How Is It Better? BugShot ammo will not clump or clog even in relatively high humidity. You can leave your bug gun loaded with ammo ready to go at a moment's notice. Don't try that with salt!BugShot ammo delivers more kinetic energy with more punch than salt for improved shooting performance, especially for your short- and medium-range wet work (0"-18").BugShot ammo is made from plant-safe biodegradable walnut shells. Salt, on the other hand, is highly toxic to many plants and can cause devastating collateral damage to any plants that get caught in the cross-fire. While shooting a single load of salt may not seem like much, repeated shots can accumulate causing injury and distress.BugShot ammo is pet-safe. Salt, on the other hand, is bad for dogs, cats, birds and other small animals and can cause life-threatening salt toxicosis (sodium poisoning) if they consume spent salt granules left lying on the floor or ground.BugShot ammo is easy to clean up. It leaves no salty buildup, corrosion, or moisture-related residue after use. Spent granules are easily swept or vacuumed up as part of routine house cleaning. Salt, on the other hand, is deliquescent (dissolves in moisture pulled from the air). That means if it is not thoroughly cleaned up right away, any remaining salt grains will form sticky pools of saturated brine that soak into and attack/corrode whatever surface they happen to be on (flooring, carpet, furniture, fabrics, rust-prone metals, etc.). Once this salty liquid brine soaks into a surface, it will continue to attract dirt, mold and bacteria, producing stains that may be very difficult to remove. Important Disclaimers Results are not guaranteed. Your mileage may vary. BugShot ammo has NOT been officially sanctioned, tested, or approved by any bug gun manufacturer. You may experience some quirky or annoying issues when using BugShot ammo in your particular bug gun, climate, or intended application.BugShot ammo is a third-party accessory not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Skell Inc. (the manufacturer of BUG-A-SALT) or any other bug gun manufacturer. Please be aware that using any non-salt ammunition in your bug gun may void the manufacturer’s war ranty. If that's going to keep you up at night, then do not use this product! Otherwise, enjoy the upgrade and use responsibly at your own risk. Instructions and Safety Safety First. Always! Take all appropriate safety precautions when using BugShot ammo, as granules may ricochet in unintended directions. Safety goggles are recommended. Do not shoot stinging insects such as wasps and yellowjackets because (duh!) they may sting you! Follow all other manufacturer recommendations for the safe use and operation of your bug gun. Loading Your Bug Gun When loading BugShot ammo into your bug gun it's critical you DO NOT OVERFILL THE HOPPER! Doing so will make the bug gun not operate properly and nothing will come out when you fire it. Just 2 capfuls of ammo is plenty and will easily provide 80-100 shots. Please watch the instructional video how to best load BugShot ammo into your bug gun. Do Not Shoot Beneficial Insects! BugShot ammo is intended to be used by responsible adults to control common home and garden pests as part of a recreational activity. Target pests include insects such as house flies, lantern flies, mosquitos, moths, cockroaches, and silverfish; and non-insect garden pests such as snails and slugs. Do not shoot beneficial ins
