Regarding method 2, if your land is drier, the conductivity of the soil will be lower, and you may notice lower power output. In this case, you need to connect the Fence Ground Terminal (Green) to the grounding rod while also connecting an additional wire to the fence line, allowing the fence line to form a dual current of Green and Red, which will improve the efficiency of your current usage. However, please take care to use insulated materials to connect the positive and negative terminals to the fence line, to avoid the electric fence forming a current loop only in a small area rather than covering the entire fence.
