Product Description Hillman Flush Foot Bolts lock a door at the floor for strong, hands-free security at the base of the door. The bolt slides a steel rod down into a strike in the floor, pinning the bottom of the door shut, which is the standard way to anchor the inactive leaf of a double door or add a solid lower lock to a single security door. It is operated entirely by foot. Press down on the bolt cap to shoot the rod into the floor strike and lock the door, then step on the release pedal to retract it and free the door. That means no bending down and no tools in daily use, which is a real convenience on a heavy warehouse or barn door. Built from steel with a zinc-plated finish, the bolt resists rust and stands up to the load and leverage a braced door puts on it. The plating lets it hold a firm, secure anchor outdoors and in on industrial, farm, and garage doors through weather and heavy, repeated use without corroding or wearing loose. Use this foot bolt on security doors at warehouses, barns, garages, and outbuildings, and to anchor one leaf of a double door so the other can latch against it. All mounting hardware and instructions are included. Mount it at the base of the door with a floor strike below, and it will lock the door down securely and reliably for the long term of daily use. The encased bolt is held in position by a heavy duty spring. When lever is depressed, the bolt engages into strike. Bolt has a 3/4" throw. Package includes a floor strike and all mounting hardware. Can be used on in and out-swinging doors.
