It is a 16 in. heavy tension tie (holdown) made from 11-gauge steel with a zinc galvanized G90 finish, designed to resist tension loads from uplift and overturning in wood-frame construction. Where is it used? Builders install the HTT5 to hold wood posts and studs down to concrete or masonry foundations, restrain shear-wall and braced-wall overturning, and make post-pour wood-to-concrete and wood-to-masonry connections in residential, multifamily, and light commercial projects, both retrofit and new construction. Why this part? The HTT5 accepts a 5/8 in. anchor bolt through a four-ply formed seat that is rivet-free and requires no washer, and fastens to the wood member with 26 nails or #10 Strong-Drive SD Connector screws.
