KEY TO OPERATION MUST-READ BEFORE USE: Key to Auto-Leveling & Accuracy To ensure your automatic optical level functions perfectly, please follow these two essential steps. Most reported issues are resolved by following this guide. This is the most critical step. The automatic self-leveling compensator is locked for protection during shipping and MUST BE UNLOCKED before use. Locate the black knob on the side of the instrument body.Press or slide it fully to the "UNLOCK" position.How to know it's working: After setting up on the tripod and doing rough leveling, look through the eyepiece. The crosshairs should stabilize and stop moving automatically within 5-10 seconds. If they remain fixed and do not self-level, FIRST check that this lock is disengaged. For professional-grade results, a simple field check of the instrument's calibration is recommended, especially after long-distance transport. The complete, step-by-step guide for checking and adjusting the i-angle is detailed in Section 5 of the included User Manual (Page 9).This 10-minute process ensures your measurements are flawlessly accurate.Pro Tip: Always perform this check at the beginning of an important project or if you have any doubts about measurement consistency.Problem: Crosshairs do not move/auto-level.
