Product description Whether you like gourmet cooking or a cookout over a campfire, the aesthetic of a solo stove on your deck or a hot fire in your fireplace, camping or glamping-- our firewood is 100% natural and is the best choice for cooking the food you're going to eat and entertain with! All of our wood is kiln dried for a minimum of 72 hours and exceeds heat treat standards for firewood. What does that mean to you? Your wood is dry, clean, free of mold and bugs. Ideal for cooking! It can safely cross state lines without risk of carrying invasive insects that are detrimental to our ecosystems. Perfect for storing in your home, camper, or cottage! All of our firewood is sourced from Northwest, Pennsylvania via state foresters. This practice protects the forests and ensures a level of stewardship focused on long term forest and wildlife health. In addition, our firewood is dried using renewable enery. Our biomass fueled kilns have a very small carbon footprint compared to gas fueled kilns, which are the industry standard. We are located in sawmill country which produces an abundance of waste wood, or cast offs from lumber. We recycle those into fuel, which in turn heats our wood drying kilns. We don’t believe in wasting wood! Versatile Gus Gus Most people don't think about vegetables when they hear "wood fired" but the reality is -- wood fired veggies are THE BEST! "Peetzee" Our food of choice. You could say this is the inspiration for everything we do! Loaded Potatoes We would like to redefine the term "loaded potatoes" with our own version. Mini potatoes cooked in garlic, onions and green peppers with the fat/oil of your choice, but hands down bacon fat is the way to go. Non Veg Who's your Farmer? Don't have one? Find one. Buy from them. Then cook all your steaks like this. Pair it With PIZZA... of course! Beef: brisket, steak, burgers Pork: rump roast, chops, bacon Lamb: chops Poultry: breasts, thighs, half a chicken, turkey, or duck. Fish/Seafood: salmon filet, shrimp Vegetables: All of Them Best Qualities of Oak Firewood Oak is the all around go-to for cooking wood. It is reliable and easy to use. It has a neutral scent, it burns hot and has a great balance of flame and coals. Oak maintains its heat longer than other hardwoods. We've Clocked Our Firewood Oak tiny splits are easy to get started and get to temperature quickly. With our experience cooking in an Ooni Karu 16 it takes Oak tiny split firewood 20 minutes to get the stone temp from 0°F to 750°F. Oak has a High Heat Value which means its coals will retain their heat longer than other types of wood. Oak easily reaches over 1000° F. Pair it With Poultry: breasts, thighs, half a chicken, turkey, or duck. Pork: rump roast, chops, bacon Lamb: chops Vegetables: All of Them PIZZA... of course! Beef: brisket, steak, burgers Best Qualities of Cherry Firewood Choose Cherry to level up your entertaining. An aromatic, clean burning wood with the charming snap and crackle. Delivering a lovely char on all the right edges and a red hue when used for cooking meat. It's a great choice when a slower cook time is desired. Next time you want to cook a ribeye use Cherry for balance between seared on the outside and cooked the way you like it on the inside. Cooking with High Temps Our drying process ensures our firewood can attain high temperatures in a short amount of time. Cherry easily reaches 800° F. Cherry is great to blend with other hardwoods when you desire a lower cooking temperature while still maintaining the qualities of Oak or Hickory. Pair it With Beef: brisket, steak, burgers Pork: rump roast, chops, bacon Poultry: breasts, thighs, half a chicken, turkey, or duck. Vegetables: All of Them PIZZA... of course! Best Qualities of Hickory Firewood The classic go-to when smoking meats. Delivering rich and bold flavor. Hickory is an energy dense hardwood more than capable of delivering the heat and sustaining it with a solid bed of coals that lasts! Hickory has a great smell and flavor when used properly. We recommend using Hickory after some experience with Oak or Cherry. The King of Heat Hickory easily reaches over 1000° F. A New York Strip steak at 1" thick will cook to medium in 3 minutes . A 12" pizza will cook in 2 minutes. Don't want it that hot? Longer cook times with lower temps can be acheived through wood species selection and good fuel management (one piece burning at a time vs three or four).
