Will he have enough room to turn around or lie down? Yeah, definitely! The carrier is 24 inches long, so 20 lb dog can easily stand up or curl up to sleep. My 18 lb mini Schnauzer fits with plenty of room to spare. Just keep in mind it's designed for smaller dogs—I wouldn't go over 55 lbs.
