Initially released in 1963 for student percussionists, the Acrolite snare soon garnered the attention of professional drummers nationwide for its exceptionally dry, bright, attacking tone. This favored tone is attributed to a period-correct 1.6mm seamless aluminum shell that's been adorned with a great selection of classic hardware, including stabilizing center-mounted Twin lugs, sonically flexible triple-flanged hoops, and a speedy P88C throw off. Vintage drum enthusiasts here at Sweetwater are also digging the Acrolite’s era-appropriate and totally mod blue/olive badging and limited-edition brushed Satin Chrome finish — finishing touches that give this snare a guise that’s straight from ’69.
