Always clamp only one wire. Wire not centered The wire should be placed in the middle of the clamp opening. Off-center placement reduces accuracy. Clamp not fully closed Dirt or a loose hinge can cause a gap, giving weak readings. Close the clamp tightly. If you hear a noise, open and close it again. If the noise stays, clean the dirty surfaces. Wrong range selected If the manual range is set too high (e.g., 200A for a 0.5A current), the reading may appear very low or inaccurate.
