It is built to support SSI-EEB motherboards and standard ATX (PS2) power supplies. It features eight hot-swappable drive bays with a durable backplane, accommodating 3.5" or 2.5" drives in SAS-12G / SATA-6G formats. These bays are secured behind a lockable front door, providing protection against unauthorized access, theft, and tampering. To maintain optimal operating temperatures, two 92mm fans are positioned behind the drive bays for efficient cooling. With eight expansion slots, the CS383 allows for the installation of high-end graphics cards, network adapters, and RAID controllers. For CPU cooling, it supports up to a 420mm radiator, offering broad compatibility with powerful processors. Three 5.25" drive bays are located at the bottom front of the chassis, allowing for installation of various 5.25" devices or a secondary PSU. In AI-driven environments, server motherboards often support dual-CPU and multi-GPU configurations. The CS383 enclosure can house up to eight single-slot GPUs, which may exceed the power limits of a single PSU, making the optional secondary PSU slot a key advantage; enhancing power redundancy, longevity, and upgradability beyond many other NAS-oriented workstation chassis. The case also includes removable dust filters in key areas, ensuring easy maintenance and optimal dust protection.
