Product description Simpson Strong-Tie PGT1.5Z-R Pipe Grip Tie, 12-Gauge ZMAX Ga What is the Simpson Strong-Tie PGT1.5Z-R? It is the PGT Pipe Grip Tie, a 12-gauge carbon steel connector that attaches wood fence rails and stringers to round metal fence posts. This 50-Pack fits 1-1/2 in. nominal pipe with a 1-7/8 in. outside diameter. Where is it used? In new fence construction and in retrofits that replace rotted or damaged wood posts with metal pipe posts, which extends fence life by eliminating common wood post rot failures. Why choose this part? The ZMAX galvanized coating is a heavier hot-dip galvanized finish for extra corrosion resistance in exterior and treated wood applications, and the flanges are field bendable one time for corner and splice conditions. Each tie measures 6-1/2 in. wide by 1-1/2 in. high, clamps to the pipe with a supplied 1/4 in. hex-head bolt, and accepts (4) 1/4 in. x 1-1/2 in. HDG Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws or 1/4 in. la Features and uses FITS 1-1/2 IN. METAL FENCE PIPE: Sized for 1-1/2 in. nominal pipe fence posts with a 1-7/8 in. outside diameter, connecting wood fence rails or stringers directly to round metal posts. 12-GAUGE ZMAX GALVANIZED STEEL: Carbon steel tie with ZMAX galvanized coating, a heavier hot-dip galvanized finish for extra corrosion resistance in exterior and treated-wood applications. BOLT-ON INSTALLATION: Each tie clamps to the pipe with its supplied 1/4 in. hex-head bolt; attach the rail with (4) 1/4 in. x 1-1/2 in. HDG Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws or 1/4 in. lag screws (rail screws not included).
