To wake up to your favorite songs, follow these simple steps: First, check the slide switch on the back of your alarm clock radio, and make sure it's set to HM (HOME) mode, not HTL (HOTEL). HOME mode allows you to use Bluetooth music, FM radio, or the built-in chime as your alarm sound, while HOTEL mode only supports the built-in chime. Next, prepare your phone for the Bluetooth alarm. Leave your music app open and make sure your phone doesn't close it automatically. Also, make sure both your phone volume and the Sound Rise II volume are set high enough to hear the alarm. Third, try this quick test to make sure everything is working properly. 1. Turn on & pair – Press the POWER or PAIR button to turn on your clock radio, then connect your phone via Bluetooth 2. Pick your song – Open your music app, play a song on your Bluetooth speaker, then pause it 3. Turn off the alarm clock Bluetooth speaker – Press the POWER button to turn off the Sound Rise II 4. Set a test alarm – Short press the ALARM SET button and turn the TUNE|SET rotary knob to set an alarm for 2 minutes later; then long press (press and hold) the MODE button and turn the TUNE|SET rotary knob to select Bluetooth as the alarm sound 5. Wait & listen – When the alarm goes off, your Bluetooth alarm speaker should turn on and your music should start playing automatically This test makes sure that your music app remains open and the Bluetooth connection is active. If it doesn’t work, your phone may be closing the music app. Try adjusting your phone’s battery settings to keep the app running. Still need help? Just let us know—we’ll get it working for you! What should I do first to set the time? After you have taken your clock out of the box and plugged it in, press and hold the SETUP button (located on the bottom of the back panel) for 2 seconds and YEAR will start flashing on the screen, now you can start setting the time on your product. Does the clock radio have battery backup in case of a power outage? The Sound Rise II does save your settings during a power failure, but not through a built-in battery, but through smart hardware design. This means it will save your settings for 2 weeks and you won't have to worry about changing the battery. Does the Sound Rise II have a gradually increasing volume and how long does it increase? It is true that the Sound Rise II supports progressive volume on the alarm sound. When the alarm goes off, the volume will gradually increase from level 0 to the preset maximum volume over a period of 60 seconds. Can the Sound Rise II alarm be set to Bluetooth or AUX input? The alarm tone includes Bluetooth, FM radio, and the built-in chime, but not the AUX IN. However, there is an AUX IN jack that you can use to play music from your non-Bluetooth devices, such as MP3 players or smartphones, using a 3.5 mm audio cable. Can I use nature sounds as an alarm option? No, the nature sounds are designed to help people relax, concentrate or sleep better, not as an alarm. You have 3 wake-up options, including Bluetooth music, FM radio or the built-in chime. Does the Sound Rise II support AM radio? No, it does not have AM radio capability. It only supports FM radio stations. The FM signal seems very weak in my house. How can I get better FM radio quality? This clock radio comes with an FM antenna mounted on the bottom of the back panel. To get the best FM reception, place your radio near a window, unfold the antenna, and adjust its position until you get the best radio performance. How many brightness levels does the dimmer have? A total of 6 dimmer levels, including one that goes to completely dark. In the dark mode, if you press the snooze button in the middle of the night, it will display the time for about 8 seconds and then go back to 100% dark. Does the Sound Rise II support automatic Daylight Savings Time change
