Product description GIDIBII Chain Oiler - an automatic chain oiler, designed to extend your chain and sprocket life. GIDIBII Chain Oiler is an on-board, on-demand chain oiling system that'll keep your chain lubed for maximum life. It can be mounted almost anywhere on your bike and you control the flow so your chain is lubed only when needed. A flexible tube runs from the reservoir to the swing arm, then down to an arm that puts the lube exactly where it's needed on the rollers, then it self-distributes onto the side plates and sprocket teeth. It works with a simple twist of the upper reservoir - a 1/4 turn delivers a measured amount of lube to the chain for the next 3 minutes. The reservoir holds about 30cc chain lube which is enough for a 4-5 days on the trail. When it's empty, unscrew the cap, fill it up, and you're ready to roll (and lube). You can use 75W80 gear lube, motor oil,ATF , or a commercial liquid chain lube. Just about any oil can be used: 80W-90 transmission oil; “tacky” oil for high speed riding; “Bio” oil for off-road use or other suitable chain lube oil. A dedicated motorcycle chain lube is your best bet. If you find yourself without chain lube, then a bit of engine oil will also do the business. You can see our recommended motorcycle chain lube in the guide. How often should I lube my chain? Your chain will need lubing approximately once every 500 miles, depending on the whether. If you're using your bike regularly, then a squirt of chain lube every week should do the business. If you're only using it on weekends, then once a month will suffice. Is WD40 bad for motorcycle chains? WD40 isn't a lubricant. WD40 won't lubricate your chain, no matter what anybody says. WD40's a dispersant of water. It's aimed at remobing water from the parts of which it is applies and it's really good at that. It does seem to have properties that make it useful for hundreds of other purposes but not one of them is chain lube. How do I know if my chain needs lube? Your chain should always look oily.
