It's very easy to use, just stick it in the dirt and the dial instantly tells you whether the soil is dry, moist or wet. Long Probe for deep use 5.5 inches longer than ordinary probes, designed for deeper flower pots or deeper use in the garden Tips Never use it to test water. Never touch the stone or hard rock soil. Do not put it in the soil for a long time. Step 1 Gently wipe the probe's tip with a paper towel or cloth 5-10 times. Step 2 Then insert it into the soil. Step 3 Wait for approximately one second. Note moisture value in the dial. Step 4 Remove the soil meter from the soil and wipe the probe clean.
