Stop Hyper Flash and Error Codes After Switching to LED Turn SignalsUpgrading to LED turn signals is a great way to improve brightness and style, but the lower power draw often triggers hyper flashing (rapid blinking) or dashboard error warnings. Our 50W 6 ohm load resistors solve this problem by adding the correct electrical load to your turn signal circuit, making your vehicle think the original halogen bulbs are still installed. How It WorksStock halogen turn signal bulbs typically draw around 21-28 watts. LED bulbs draw only 3-5 watts. The difference in power consumption confuses your vehicle’s flasher relay or CAN bus system, causing hyper flash. Each 50W 6 ohm resistor adds approximately 24 watts of load (at 12V). When paired with a 4W LED bulb, the total load matches a standard halogen bulb, restoring normal flash rate.Important Safety Warnings – Read Before Installation⚠️ Load resistors become EXTREMELY HOT during operation – surface temperatures can exceed 200°F (93°C).⚠️ Mount on bare metal surface only – Use a screw or bolt (not included) to attach the resistor’s metal body directly to the vehicle’s chassis or another metal panel. This acts as a heat sink.⚠️ Keep away from plastic, wires, fuel lines, and interior trim – Maintain at least 1 inch (25 mm) of clearance from all heat-sensitive components.⚠️ Do not touch the resistor while the circuit is active – Allow it to cool completely before handling.⚠️ Not for continuous-use lights – Do not use on DRLs, fog lights, or headlights that remain on for extended periods. Designed for intermittent turn signal use only.Installation InstructionsEach vehicle may have different wiring colors, but the principle is the same: connect the resistor in parallel with the LED bulb.*Method 1 – Using included quick-splice taps (no wire cutting):*Locate the turn signal bulb socket wiring. Identify the positive (power) wire and the ground wire.Use the splice taps to connect one resistor wire to the positive wire and the other resistor wire to the ground wire.Ensure the taps are fully closed to make contact.Secure the resistor body to a metal surface as described above.Method 2 – Soldering or crimping (more secure):Cut the two resistor wires to desired length.Strip about 1/4 inch of insulation.Solder or crimp one wire to the turn signal positive wire and the other to ground.Heat-shrink or tape all connections.Mount the resistor body securely.Which bulbs need resistors? One resistor per LED turn signal bulb (front left, front right, rear left, rear right = 4 resistors typically). Some vehicles may require resistors for side markers if they are also LED and cause hyper flash. If you have LED tail lights that also function as turn signals, treat each function separately.Technical Specifications:Resistance: 6 ohm ± 5%Power Rating: 50 WattsVoltage: 12V DC (works on 9V-15V systems)Connector Type: Bare wire ends + quick-splice taps includedDimensions (each resistor): Approx. 1.5″ x 0.8″ x 0.5″ (metal housing)Wire Length: Approx. 6 inchesPackage Includes:4 × 50W 6 Ohm Load Resistors8 × Quick-Splice Wire Taps1 × Installation Instruction SheetCompatibility NotesWorks on most vehicles with 12V electrical systems (cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, trailers).Compatible with both standard and CAN-bus equipped vehicles.May not work on some European vehicles that require specific CAN-bus decoders – check with your vehicle manufacturer.
