Product description Inside Micrometers (includes caliper type and tubular type) are used to measure the inside diameter (I.D.) of an object such as a tube. Compared to other bore-measuring instruments, such as bore gauges, telescoping gauges, small hole gauges, etc, inside micrometers have excellent accuracy and ease of reading. Please note that the inside micrometers are not suitable for deep bores. Measuring azimuth ascertaining: The measuring jaws’ generatrix of inside micrometers is parallel to each other. So, when measuring inside a dimension by inside micrometers, to ensure measuring jaws and inside of measured part touched completely(As shown in the real line of measuring azimuth in the drawing 1). 2. Find measuring optimal value: To measure different objects by inside micrometers, reading means are different accordingly to get the optimal value. A. Measuring inside hole dimension (Drawing2): If there is deflection (X) between measuring azimuth (L) and measured part (D), the measuring error is: the δ=D-L=D - Square root of ( D^2 - X^2). Therefore, the max reading value is the optimal value when measuring bore dimension. B. Measuring width dimension (Drawing3): If there is deflection (X) between measuring azimuth (L) and measured part (D), the measuring error is the δ=L-D=Square root of ( D^2 + X^2) - D. Therefore, the min reading value is the optimal value when measuring width dimension.
