Ardex TL 1000 Self-Levelling Underlayment is a high-performance cement-based leveling compound engineered specifically for fast and reliable floor preparation prior to tile and stone installation. Formulated from a blend of Portland cement and other hydraulic cements, this pourable self-levelling underlayment eliminates the need for traditional backer boards, saving time, labor and material costs by removing the need to cut, fit, glue and mechanically fasten panels. Designed for use over interior concrete subfloors, cementitious terrazzo and existing ceramic, quarry, or porcelain tile, Ardex TL 1000 creates a smooth, flat and durable surface ideal for installing ceramic tile, porcelain tile, marble tile, granite tile, natural stone, mosaic tile and large-format or super-format tile. Its self-smoothing properties allow the material to seek its own level, producing professional results with minimal effort. Ardex TL 1000 is especially well suited for modern flooring installations where flatness and surface quality are critical, including large-format tile installations, heated floor systems and installations over uncoupling membranes. It can be used as a fast and effective prefill layer, helping reduce installation time while improving overall system performance. This self-levelling underlayment mixes with water only and requires no additives, making it simple and efficient to prepare on site. It can be installed from a feather edge up to 1 1/4 inches thick in a single application and offers excellent coverage of approximately 25 square feet at 1/4 inch thickness per 50 lb bag. The surface is walkable in approximately 4 to 5 hours and tile or stone flooring can typically be installed in as little as 6 hours, allowing for same-day installation schedules. Ardex TL 1000 is suitable for a wide range of interior applications including bathrooms, kitchens, living areas and commercial spaces where durability, flatness and reliability are required.
