Product description Which one should I choose – adhesive or non-adhesive? It depends on your installation. Choose the 2mm adhesive version for clean, flat surfaces where you won’t need to move it. Choose the 5mm non-adhesive version if you need to test-fit or might remove it later for maintenance. How do I peel the liner off the adhesive version? Any tips? Locate splice line on back. Lift edge with fingernail or flat knife. Grip and peel backward & downward steadily. Peel 2-4" increments as you stick — do not peel all at once. If tears, lift edge at tear and continue. What's the best way to mount the 5mm non-adhesive version? We recommend three methods: High-temp stainless steel zip ties (secure & heat-resistant). Mechanical clamps / compression plates (if you have mounting holes). High-temp double-sided tape (for light-duty, non-vibration surfaces) Can I apply this directly to the exhaust pipe? Yes. The ceramic side withstands 2280°F direct contact. Face the aluminum side toward the heat source. For vibrating exhaust pipes, use stainless steel zip ties or clamps for mechanical fastening (not just adhesive). Does this prevent rodents / squirrels? Yes. The smooth, hard aluminum surface is unattractive to rodents, and unlike fiberglass insulation, they won’t nest in it. Many owners use it to replace hood liners damaged by squirrels.
