For sinks with a fixed strainer or stopper, you may need to remove the drain cover or p-trap. Basic tools and DIY skills are needed. Follow the included instructions for easy, safe setup. Easy to Unclog Drain: repeat the step 1-3 as needed until the clog is cleared Do not force the cable when resistance is encountered. Forcing may cause kinking or the cable to become stuck. Case 1: Make sure the button on the right side, then rotate the drum to feed or retract the cable. Case 2: Reduce drill speed when meeting resistance. Case 3: Pull back slightly and try again if the cable gets stuck. Is this drain auger fully automatic? This auger features an auto feed assist mechanism, but it is not fully automatic. You can control the cable feed and retract by rotating the drum or adjusting the drill direction and speed. It is still much easier and faster to use than manual auger. The cable only goes down a few feet and can't reach down further? Cable stuck in the trap/drain. Check the "Troubleshooting" section on page 12 of the manual to learn how to do. Is this suitable for beginners? Beginners can use it, but basic drill control and following the guide are important. Watching the video and manual is strongly recommended for best results.
