From the Publisher Book in Spanish (as seen in the pictures) for babies and toddlers Learn emotions through the cute teddy bears We learn the 22 most common emotions and feelings Each of the teddy bears is feeling an emotion. A fun game can be: 1. identify the emotion: for example, the teddy bear is proud 2. make up a story about the cause, which can be the one in the book or any other, in this example the one in the book: the little bear is proud because he has built a very big tower. 3. Teach our little ones resources to encourage emotion (if it is positive) or to deal with it if it is negative Develop symbolic playing As I explain in the book's description, symbolic play is very important for our little ones because through it they will express their emotions, develop empathy, consolidate their mental structures, improve their language and develop systems to face, assume, etc., situations of his daily life. Although symbolic play is totally spontaneous, we as parents can encourage it by expanding the repertoire of characters and situations that they can imitate. Through this book we can help their symbolic play by also teaching our little ones to face negative emotions, and encourage positive emotions. My own experience with this book I am going to write this review honestly, the truth is that my toddler does not like this book. I'm very sorry, because I think it's a beautiful book, which can give a lot of play and a lot of fun, but the truth is that the day I showed it to my little girl, she would have just turned 2 years old, she didn't like it and she didn't like it because she couldn't bear to see the negative emotions of the bears: the crying bear was a real tragedy for her. After that, I have tried to read it a few times, but she hasn't shown much interest, she doesn't ask for it either... and I haven't kept trying. My idea is to wait until she is a little older to address this issue of emotions. Each child is different, there are children who are more mature, more sensitive, stronger, more shy... and the experience with my daughter at 2 years old has been this. Later on, I'll try again and I'll write here how things have gone....(((I hope better))) Personally, I think that this book has much more quality in content and design than many other of my books... and yet, the experience with other "poorer" books of mine has been super fun and enriching, and with this one I hasn't. That is the way the cookie crumbles Martina Molina Why should we foster reading habits in our children? There are many reasons to do so, but I am going to talk here about the 3 that seem most important to me and that are the main reason why I encourage my toddler to read, or better said, since she is now two years and a half, deal with books: A practical matter: I don't know what my little girl will want to do for a living when she grows up, but most likely she will have to learn it reading. I am sure that loving reading will open to her more doors to knowledge, and therefore, more and better opportunities at a professional level, than not having this hobby.A physical question: A study by DR. David Lewis of the University of Sussex showed that reading helps us to reduce stress by 68%, compared to 61% that can be reduced through a podcast or music, or a walk 42%. On the contrary, video games, although they reduce stress by 21%, raise heart rate. The people participating in the study who had established the habit of reading (3 hours a week) lived an average of at least 2 years longer than the rest. In addition, it showed that only 6 minutes are enough to slow down the heart rate, relieve muscle tension and change the mood. I cannot prevent my daughter from suffering stress in her life, or complicated situations, I think these are situations intrinsic to the human being... what I can do as a mother is providing her with tools that minimize the effects of stress, or just helps her to deal with it.A matter of fun, but enriching... today, I can proudly say that my little girl considers books as toys. How do I instill instill in my toddler a love of reading? Throughout her two and a half years of life, the moments in which I have offered her books have changed, as sames as have changed the book formats that I have offered her. When I was pregnant we read a very short story every night....When she was 4 months old, my partner and I sat her on the sofa and gave her a Thinkerbell book ...I remember she went crazy with so many colors and we went crazy happy because it seemed that she loved it and that she had read all her life. Today, my little girl has already instilled the habit of “reading” during breakfast, before going to sleep, when she is playing with her toys or on car journeys... But there are two key moments: breakfast and bedtime. At breakfast I always give her cardboard books: I leave her free with them so she can "read" them, manipulate them, bite them, or whatever she wants to do with them... hehehe And at bedtime, his daddy
