With an easy assembly process, this mattock comes in two pieces - the head and handle. Shipping and storage are a breeze, and assembling the tool is straightforward and hassle-free. Assembly Instructions: Take the Cutter Mattock blade and slide it over the bottom (thin) end of the handle, ensuring that the cutter and adze are curved up toward the bottom of the handle While holding the bottom end of the handle, hit the wide end of the handle straight down onto a smooth concrete surface Repeat these forceful blows until the head is firmly secured around the wide end of the handle Note: The distance between the blade and the bottom of the handle should not exceed 0.2 inches to prevent the blade from loosening during use. Disassembly Instructions: To remove the tool head, hold the metal head with both hands and hit the thin end of the handle down against a wooden board laid down on a concrete surface until the head moves far enough down the handle to separate. The wooden board protects the end of the handle from damage
