Guided By Principles How It All Started After becoming disenchanted by the lack of quality and accountability present in modern goods manufactured overseas, housewares designer Peter Huntley founded Stargazer Cast Iron in 2015. Today, tens of thousands of skillets later, Stargazer continues to grow. Proudly Made in the USA Casting Our Cookware Our cookware begins its journey at our foundry, where domestically sourced, primarily recycled iron is melted at 2,800°F. The molten iron is refined and checked for purity, then poured into molds made of sand and clay in a process known as “green sand” casting. Once cooled, the molds are released on a shakeout line, leaving behind a solid, raw casting Hand Finished Smooth, Micro-Textured Cooking Surface The raw castings are sent to our machine shop, where they're loaded into a custom-built fixture and CNC machined across the entire interior surface. This allows us to dial in the optimal weight & thickness of each piece with precision. The castings are then meticulously shaped by hand using a series of hand tools to grind and smooth any burrs or other artifacts remaining from casting and machining before moving onto a two-step surface finish treatment. Can I use your cookware on my glass/ceramic or induction stove? Yes. Our cast iron cookware can be used on any cooking surface: gas, electric coil, glass/ceramic, induction, grill, etc. We take great care to smooth the bottom surface of our cookware to avoid damage to glass/ceramic stove tops. Where is Stargazer Cast Iron cookware made? All of our cookware is made right here in the United States! Is your cookware non-toxic? Yes! Our cookware is made of traditional gray iron and seasoned with a blend of canola, grapeseed, and sunflower oil - that's it! We have a zero tolerance policy for heavy metals and other toxins. What makes Stargazer Cast Iron different than other cast iron? Our stay-cool handle, smooth micro-textured cooking surface and extra large helper handle! 12-inch Skillet Compare Our Cookware 12" Rim Diameter 10.5" 9.4" Cooking Surface 8.1" 21.5" Total Length 19.4" 3.4 quarts Capacity 2.3 quarts 6.5 pounds Weight 5.2 pounds 12" Rim Diameter 13.5" 9.4" Cooking Surface 10.8" 21.5" Total Length 17.3" 3.4 quarts Capacity 4.9 quarts 6.5 pounds Weight 7.3 pounds Previous page 10.5-inch Skillet Learn More 13.5-inch Braiser Learn More Next page
