During production, a mild, silk-safe acidic solution is used to protect the silk's natural proteins. A faint trace may remain but is non-toxic. You can use it with confidence. How do I remove the smell? Mix 1 tbsp white vinegar into 4L cool water. Soak mask 2–5 min, then gently rinse under cool running water. Air dry in the shade. This will removes odor & leaves silk softer & more lustrous. Can I just throw it in the washer and dryer? We recommend gentle hand washing and hanging to dry in the shade. High spin cycles damage silk fibers. High heat and direct sunlight cause the silk to turn stiff and lose its luster. Proper care extends its service life.
