Product description Simpson Strong-Tie PGT2-R Pipe Grip Tie for 2 in. Pipe (2-3/ The Simpson Strong-Tie PGT2-R Pipe Grip Tie is a fence connector that fastens wood rails and stringers to 2 in. nominal metal pipe posts with a 2-3/8 in. outside diameter. Each tie is made of 12-gauge carbon steel with a G90 zinc galvanized coating and measures 6-1/2 in. wide by 1-1/2 in. high. A 1/4 in. hex-head bolt is supplied with every tie to clamp it around the pipe, and each wood rail attaches with four 1/4 in. x 1-1/2 in. SDS Strong-Drive screws, which are sold separately. The flanges can be field-bent one time to fit corner and angled conditions, and Simpson recommends three to four ties per pipe post, lined to a stringline. Builders use the PGT2-R for new fence construction on steel pipe posts and for replacing damaged or rotted wood posts with metal pipe to extend the life of an existing fence. This carton of 50 supplies complete multi-post fence runs. Features and uses FITS 2 IN.
