Product description Simpson Strong-Tie WT8 Wedge Form Tie, 18 Gauge Galvanized S The Simpson Strong-Tie WT8 is an 18 gauge galvanized (G90 zinc) steel wedge form tie that holds poured concrete forms in place and accurately spaces the two form boards while the wall is poured. The 8 in the model number is the wall thickness: WT8 spaces nominal 2X form boards for an 8 in. thick finished wall. It is used in low poured concrete foundation and footing wall formwork built with nominal 2X lumber, and it is not recommended for wall pours greater than 4 ft. high. Each tie measures 2.88 in. H x 8.38 in. W, and its 5/8 in. wide formed V design adds rigidity for accurate form spacing and support. To install, place the tie between the form boards, lock it with two W1 wedges (sold separately), pour, then snap the tie off at the surface.
