These Tekton shop scissors have blades made from SUS 420J2 stainless steel to resist corrosion and are hardened to 50 - 54 HRC for a lasting edge that can be resharpened. Smooth edges cut cleanly, without leaving impressions in the material the way serrations do. The 2.5 inch blades are thick and short enough to stay rigid during tough cuts. The 3/8 inch stainless steel locknut at the joint can be tightened to set the blade tension or removed to separate the blades for cleaning and sharpening. The handle shape is the same on both sides, so the scissors work equally well in either hand. The lower handle fits four fingers for a secure grip and more leverage. The blade shanks extend deep into the handles, and the TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) is molded directly around them, creating a bond that won't pull apart.
