Seven years after becoming the CEO of ENCOM, Kevin Flynn (Bridges) mysteriously disappears. 20 years later while searching for clues about his father's whereabouts, Sam Flynn (Hedlund) is pulled into the Grid, a virtual world that Kevin has been inhabiting since he vanished. Along with Kevin's loyal apprentice Quorra (Olivia Wilde), the father and son embark on a perilous journey across an advanced universe created by Kevin himself, pursued by a ruthless enemy who will stop at nothing to prevent their escape.
