When connected to the motherboard PWR_SW header, it functions as an external desktop power button. Can I use the power button without connecting to the motherboard? No. The power button function requires connection to the motherboard PWR_SW pins. Without it, only fingerprint login via USB will work. Will my original PC case power button still work? Yes. The included Y-splitter cable allows both this device and your original case power button to work simultaneously. What if the power button doesn’t work after installation? Please check: Connected to PWR_SW pins (not PLED or RESET) Cable is fully inserted Try reversing the connector direction Does the POWER SW connector have polarity (+/-)? No. The POWER SW connector is non-polarized, so it can be plugged in either direction.
