The Generac 6485 Scheduled Maintenance Kit contains every factory-recommended replacement part needed to complete a full service on 20kW, 22kW, 24kW, and 26kW air-cooled Generac standby generators equipped with a 999cc V-Twin engine manufactured in 2013 or later. Which generators does this kit fit? This kit is compatible with Generac, Honeywell by Generac, and Centurion by Generac standby generators using the 999cc V-Twin engine. To confirm compatibility, locate the model and serial number plate on your generator enclosure or refer to your owner's manual. Generators built before 2013 use a different engine specification and require a different maintenance kit. What is included in the box? The kit contains one OEM flat-panel air filter, one foam air pre-cleaner, one spin-on oil filter, two pre-gapped OEM spark plugs, an angled oil funnel, a microfiber cleanup cloth, a step-by-step instruction manual, and a preventative maintenance reminder sticker. No special tools are required beyond standard hand tools. Engine oil is not included. Generac recommends SAE 5W-30 full synthetic engine oil for the 999cc V-Twin engine. Purchase oil separately before beginning your service. The generator must be fully shut down and cooled before starting any maintenance procedure. How often should you service your generator? Generac recommends completing a full scheduled maintenance service every 200 hours of runtime or every 2 years, whichever comes first. Generators operating in dusty or debris-heavy environments may require more frequent service — consult your owner's manual for adjusted intervals. Does this kit protect your warranty? Using genuine OEM Generac parts at the factory-recommended service interval maintains your generator's warranty compliance. Aftermarket parts may not meet the engine tolerances required to preserve warranty coverage. After completing the service, reset the maintenance reminder using your generator's controller — instructions are included in the manual and in your generator's owner's manual. All parts are covered under Generac's standard parts warranty.
